Music To Play In The Dark - Bianchi & The Jungle Sex-Tet

Bianchi & The Jungle Sex-Tet were a supergroup of musicians who treaded that fine line between jazz and lounge. Bianchi is actually flautist Bob Romeo, whose album Aphrodesia is another calssic in the same vein as this. The roster also includes Brazilian bossa nova guitarist Laurindo Almeida, and Eddie Cano, Alvin Stoller, Rafael Vasquez Jr. and Carlos Videl. Music To Play In The Dark has a definite beatnik feel to it, mainly because of the bongos and flute, but the variety of foreign song stylings also give it that hint of exotica. Either way, it's easy to imagine sitting in a smoky jazz cellar, sipping espresso while listening.
CAUTION!
The pulsating rhythms in this album are primitive and basic. Those unaccustomed (or accustomed) to dealing with aroused emotions are urged to listen with care!
